Swansea Channel

Dora Creek

Dora Creek is one of the delightful waterways that flow into Lake Macquarie. Waterfront homes give way to bushland as we head upstream, exploring small creeks as we go. As we pass under the F3 freeway, the traffic sound gives way to bellbirds as the creek narrows and the trees form a canopy overhead.

Mooney Creek

This area is characterised by the F3 Overpass bridge and the peaceful upper reaches it's tributaries. Marvel at the engineering of the bridge then float away with the serenity and sheer beauty of this location. We will explore everything this area has to offer and even have time for a short bushwalk along the Great North Walk for those of us feeling energetic.

Wisemans Ferry

Leaving historic Wisemans Ferry, we head up either the Macdonald River or Webbs Creek, areas steeped in history. Many of the old buildings remain as testament to the hardships faced by the early settlers. As we paddle up the river, farmland gives way to a more rugged terrain and there are plenty of sandy beaches to stretch your legs and relax.
