Getting to the Central Coast
The NSW Central Coast is only a short 40 minute drive from Sydney’s
northern suburbs (Hornsby). Once leaving Sydney, The drive
is on a three lane freeway through Ku ring gai and Brisbane Waters
National Parks.
If you don’t have access to a car, the train service to
the Central Coast is a good one. Trains leave every 30 minutes
from Central Station. The journey is beautiful, winding through
Ku ring gai and Brisbane Water National Parks, crossing the Hawkesbury
River and winding along Mullet Creek, before arriving at the Central
Coast. Depending on your kayak tour, you will be travelling
to either Woy Woy or Gosford Station. Click below for a link

Another alternative is to travel by ferry from Palm Beach (Sydney’s
northern beaches) to Ettalong. Ferries run approximately
every hour and a half. Click below for a link to the timetable.

If you are travelling by public transport, we can organise to
pick you up and return you to the train or ferry. Transfer
numbers are limited to 4. If your group is larger than this,
please contact us to discuss options.
Consider staying overnight –
If you are coming up to the Central Coast to participate on one
of our kayak tours or kayak courses, why not consider staying overnight

- Dining on the Central Coast – Dining on the Central Coast
is as varied as anywhere.
- In Gosford township, Central Coast Leagues Club offers an ‘all
you can eat’ buffet for under $15, as well as a café,
a bistro and chinese and teppanyaki restaurants. Iguana
Joe’s is right on the waterfront at Gosford and has a bar
and brasserie.
- Terrigal is a beautiful location east of Gosford City Centre
and offers a wide range of dining options from cafés,
Hogs Breath, restaurants etc.
Dining out
Further to the north of Gosford is The Entrance, and to the south
is the Woy Woy / Umina / Ettalong area, both areas offering plenty
of dining options from fresh cooked take away fish n chips to quality
restaurants and everything in between.
A great and unique dining experience on the Coast is Lizottes
Restaurant at Kincumber. This multi award winning restaurant
combines superb food with live music. Many of Australia’s
music legends (Richard Clapton, Wendy Matthews, Brian Cadd, Glenn
Shorrock etc etc) regularly perform here, as well as overseas artists
and new talent.
